Reflecting on the housing market & contemplating 2026, @cotality_au national Home Value Index just recorded the smallest gain in 5 months, with value rising 0.7% in Dec. Sydney & Melbourne were the biggest drag on the headline growth outcome with values sliding -0.1% lower.

Australian dwelling values data released by @cotality_au revealing a rise of 0.5% in May, taking the national index 1.7% higher over the first five months of the year. The gains were broad based with every capital city posting a rise of at least 0.4% through the month.

@corelogicau Home Value Index data for Feb 25 show nationally a 0.3% increase in dwelling values. Melbourne's 0.4% increase has broken a streak of ten consecutive months of falling home values. We are moving from a buyers market to a balanced market for buyers & sellers.

Key property market indicators released by the @REIVictoria today reveal the following. #melbre

Today @corelogicau released their Hedonic Home Value Index. Their report revealed nationally a lift of 0.1% in dwelling values for the month of November and annually a rise of 5.5%. In Melbourne there's been a decline of 0.4% for November and a fall of -2.3% for 12 months.

@corelogicau data reveals the percentage of Investors in Victoria as a proportion of loan commitments has reduced from approximately 45% in 2014 to 31.5% in 2024. Not surprising! Disappointing trend as Victorian Investors hit with higher Land Tax, Compliance Costs etc.
