Crazy story out of Qatar: A British couple honeymooned in Doha, where the wife was harassed at the Ritz-Carlton pool by two men who told her she'd "fall in love" after he slept with her. The hotel gaslit her, with management denying the CCTV backed her story despite their own WhatsApp messages saying the opposite. Her husband posted a TripAdvisor review calling the hotel "unsafe for women." The hotel got it pulled, then a hotel employee filed a defamation complaint against him under Qatar's cybercrime laws. Nearly a year later, when he returned to Qatar for work, he was detained, informed he'd been tried in absentia and fined, and then held for four nights in a deportation centre. The deportation order lasts five years, which severely hurts his career as a Middle East healthcare consultant. In other words, Marriott International, an American company, used Qatari law to silence a complaint about a woman being sexually harassed at their property.

@WabKinew getting leadership right yet again. @fordnation and the @OntarioPCParty could learn from this outstanding Premier. Manitoba is outpacing Ontario for infrastructure development and leading the way on building a stronger province. If only we had a competent leader.

BREAKING: Marit Stiles’ motion to ban the predatory practice of surveillance pricing in Ontario was voted down by Doug Ford’s government. These are the faces of our elected officials who voted to side with corporations over working people. Remember them. Doug Ford, days after being caught buying a $30M private jet on the taxpayers dime, didn’t even bother to show up for the vote. Shameful. The Manitoba NDP government passed a similar bill, the Saskatchewan NDP is proposing it, and Canada’s NDP proposed it before it was shut down by the Federal Liberals – and now the Ontario NDP’s motion was defeated. It’s clear that the NDP is the only party fighting to make life more affordable for people. More to come.

Doug Ford got caught with his hand in the cookie jar… and suddenly the jar disappears. Friday: “Here’s your $29 MILLION private jet, Ontario taxpayers.” Sunday: “Actually… we might sell it.” That was quick. So let me get this straight, in the middle of: Healthcare being stretched to the breaking point Classrooms getting more crowded OSAP being cut Families struggling with groceries and rent …a luxury jet made the priority list? And now that people are asking questions, suddenly it’s on the chopping block? Ontario doesn’t need “Air Ford One.” We need healthcare. We need education. We need accountability. This isn’t leadership it’s damage control. Funny how fast priorities change when the public starts paying attention.

It’s honestly just shameful at this point. Doug Ford is out here buying a $28 million private jet, while at the same time cutting OSAP, underfunding healthcare, and gutting public education. People can barely afford groceries right now and he has no problem with pricing going through the roof. But there’s always money for what he wants. $350,000.00 annual salaries for each 8 appointed school board supervisors? No problem. A luxury jet on the taxpayers’ dime? No problem. Working barely half the year and still collecting a full salary and benefits? Also no problem. Meanwhile, regular Ontarians are out here struggling just to survive. Make it make sense. Because right now, it doesn’t. This isn’t leadership. It’s completely out of touch
