@williamnhutton So Labour voters voted tactically… that doesn’t seem an unambiguous disaster for Labour if their constituency is still there. It certainly seems a victory for progressives… and (while the media doesn’t seem to have clocked this) a defeat for the hard right.

Phenomenal result for the Greens in Gorton and Denton which even they did not anticipate. The British have learned how to vote tactically which is bad news for Reform. Labour? Unambiguously a disaster.

I’m bemused by media coverage of the by-election this morning. (Hello, @BBC.) The electorate did the smart thing & voted tactically to keep Reform out. Yet the coverage is all about how disastrous the result is for one of the progressive parties whose voters did the smart thing.
