I used to be a digital artist (2D drawing) but lost my mojo somehow. I am into photography for some time now and decided to change my user name accordingly into @geraldmfoto (occasional drawing not excluded) #PortfolioDay

@AG_Exposed Ayup AG, I'm not on 'X' formerly known as Twitter anymore, but I went back to see if you're still posting. If I remember correctly you shoot with a pocketable Lumix camera? If so, I'd like to know which one as dabbling with the idea to swap from Lumix G to Lumix TZ (or similar)

Dear fellow photographers, as I started to feel quite uncomfortable here on so called ‚X‘ under the reign of Elon Musk, I recently migrated to BlueSky. Feel free to stop by or even join our new feed #bnw_macro over there - see you 😊🤜🤛

As @elonmusk makes increased use of so called 'X' for political influence and claiming more power, even offending German Chancelor Olaf Scholz instead of showing empathy for victims killed or injured at Magdeburg rampage, I think it's time to leave 'X' or taking at least a hiatus

@kyletwebster Impressive - reminds me, that I didn't do any brush stroke for a couple of years (but Procreate's still on my iPad)

An example of how I might use the crazy new brush I made today. Each of the 'magic' lines coming from the wizard's hands are done with a single brush stroke. Super fun. #Procreate

@photojack I second what you say - nevertheless wishing an iPhone with larger sensor and single lens mount ... and preferably interchangeable lenses: tele, macro, wide-angle (not the third party ones actually available)

The iPhone Camera is a "Real" Camera: It's Time to Get Real Let's be honest: dedicated cameras have their strengths. They offer superior manual controls, larger sensors, and interchangeable lenses, allowing photographers to achieve extraordinary detail and quality in their images. For professional work, where every pixel counts and the final image might be printed at large sizes, these advantages are significant and hard to ignore. However, the iPhone camera shouldn't be dismissed simply because it fits in your pocket. The proof is in the results. Technological Advancements Today's iPhones are equipped with advanced sensors, multiple lenses, and sophisticated image processing capabilities. Features like Smart HDR, Deep Fusion, and Night mode make it possible to capture stunning images in various lighting conditions. Computational photography techniques ensure that every shot is optimized for color accuracy, sharpness, and detail. These technological advancements have significantly closed the gap between smartphone cameras and traditional cameras. Portability and Accessibility One of the most significant advantages of the iPhone camera is its portability. It’s always with you, ready to capture spontaneous moments that might otherwise be missed. This accessibility allows for a more authentic and immediate form of photography. You don’t have to carry around a bag full of gear to take great photos—your iPhone is always at the ready. Creative Freedom The iPhone camera offers creative freedom that is hard to match. Its ease of use and intuitive interface make it accessible to both beginners and professionals. Built-in editing tools and a plethora of photography apps available on the App Store provide endless possibilities for creativity. You can experiment with filters, adjust exposure, and fine-tune your images right from your phone. Versatility Whether you're shooting landscapes, portraits, street photography, or macro shots, the iPhone delivers exceptional results. The Portrait mode, with its adjustable depth of field and lighting effects, enables photographers to create professional-quality portraits. The wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses offer flexibility in framing your shots, allowing you to capture different perspectives effortlessly. The Proof is in the Results Many professional photographers and filmmakers have embraced the iPhone as a legitimate tool for their work. Entire movies have been shot on iPhones, and photojournalists have used them to capture breaking news. Renowned photographers and artists praise the iPhone for its convenience, quality, and ability to produce stunning results. The final images speak for themselves—crisp, vibrant, and full of detail. Photography Today: Online Sharing In today’s digital age, most photography is shared online rather than printed. Social media platforms, blogs, and websites are the primary venues for showcasing images. The iPhone’s ability to capture high-quality photos and instantly share them online makes it an invaluable tool for modern photographers. The quality of the images is more than sufficient for online viewing, where they are appreciated by audiences worldwide. Breaking Down Barriers To suggest that the iPhone camera isn’t a "real" camera is to undermine the progress and innovation in the field of photography. It’s a misguided and elitist viewpoint that fails to recognize the democratization of photography. The iPhone has made high-quality photography accessible to millions of people around the world, breaking down barriers and enabling creativity to flourish. Conclusion The iPhone camera is not only a "real" camera, but it is also a powerful tool that continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in photography. Its technological advancements, portability, creative potential, and professional use all speak to its legitimacy. So, to all the naysayers: it’s time to embrace the future and recognize that the iPhone camera is a game-changer in the world of photography. Let’s put an end to the outdated notion that only traditional cameras are "real" cameras. Photography is about capturing moments, telling stories, and expressing creativity—and the iPhone camera does all of that exceptionally well. If the iPhone camera is not a real camera…then I am not a real photographer. Click. Jack.

@geraldmfoto The iPhone is not a bad camera. I also sometimes use it when I'm in a sudden. However, it feels like an oil painting, and there are places where the experience of using the camera is also important. That said, it's also surprising that sometimes great pictures can be taken.

iPhoneです。 寒いけど陽射しのあった今日、信号待ちで目にした光景。 こんなときコンデジあったらと思いつつも、あれやこれやカメラがあってもなーと、冷静になってみたり。
