@FrankEvers75632 @LionHirth Sorry, no, 0.02NOK (2 øre), which is about 0.17 cent. Plus taxes and grid fee, so I end up with 4-5 cent. Yes, it's cheap here in Central Norway. The interesting and general point is the low price for charging, compared with the normal price.

Anfang des Jahres haben wir eine Studie zu Smart Charging & dezentraler Flex veröffentlicht. Dort schätzen wir: die Stromkosten für Elektroautos lassen sich so um 70% senken. Voraussetzung sind zeitvariable Netzentgelte. Das war damals Zukunftsmusik, nun sind sie da! (1.Jan)

@JessePeltan HPs are fantastic, but with your very short heating season probably not profitable for a household. Less socialising of costs through capacity based grid tariffs and e.g. dynamic pricing might change that.

Texas could switch to 100% electric heating, use less electricity, and lower peak winter demand. 61% of homes in Texas heat with electricity, but only 19% use heat pumps. 42% use electric resistance heating, 35% use gas, and 3% use propane. Cold weather heat pumps can maintain a coefficient of performance (COP) above 2, even below temperatures experienced during Winter Storm Uri. Upgrading resistance heating to heat pumps would reduce peak demand by more than what is needed to electrify gas heating. Heating in Texas is already mostly electric, but it's mostly the least efficient kind of electric. With 100% heat pumps, demand would be lower during peaks and substantially lower on an annual basis. That means less strain on gas storage and transmission infrastructure. High gas heating demand contributed to the gas shortages that plagued the grid during Winter Storm Uri. As a bonus, modernizing heating with heat pumps would decrease peak summer demand. Half of our summer peak is cooling demand. Cooling demand could be cut by ~1/3 with modern heat pumps. "The most efficient air conditioners use 30% to 50% less energy to produce the same amount of cooling as air conditioners made in the mid 1970s. Even if your air conditioner is only 10 years old, you may save 20% to 40% of your cooling energy costs by replacing it with a newer, more efficient model." energy.gov/energysaver/ce…

@janrosenow Not a single plumber/gas fitters that I know recommends these heat pumps. Every one says they are a gimmick and not suitable to heat a home. I'll listen to the skills and experience on the streets who are dealing with them on a regular basis.

Replacing a gas boiler with a heat pump in the UK cuts emissions by 77-86%. This includes the embodied emissions from manufacturing the heat pump. This means the heat pump would offset its embodied carbon after 13 months. carbonbrief.org/factcheck-18-m…

@AndreasAasheim Blir nok litt mer enn det, men neppe lønnsomt nei. Og man vil neppe akseptere priser i 4000€ sjiktet, selv om det er få timer. Da kommer man ikke utenom en form for kapasitetstarted. Strategisk reserve har en spesifikk betydning i europeisk regulering.

Batterier kommer så fort at det nesten er vanskelig å skjønne. De flater ut andekurven, forlenger soldøgnet, jevner ut fornybarproduksjon, og responderer på forbruket. Døden for gasskraft som balansekraft, men ødelegger fullstendig forretningsmodellen base load.

Solkraft på «gråe arealer», dvs arealer berørt av menneskelige inngrep er en god ide, slik som i eksempelet her. Det er også slike arealer som bør gi raskere konsesjonsprosesser og som EU kaller «go-to areas». Norge har ca 2000 km2 vei. Det blir mye kraft nrk.no/sorlandet/sats…

@abrenna Ellers må man huske de dynamiske effektene. Med mange slike timer blir det lønnsomt å innrette seg, både for næringsliv og husholdninger. Billading, varmtvann, osv. Industri vil gradvis bli mer fleksibel. Batterier. Osv. Over tid vil dette dempe de negative prisene.

Gang på gang luller @equinor - ansatte seg inn i sine egne vrangforestillinger om fossilt og fornybar: Man må ikke doble strømproduksjon for å erstatte resterende fossilt forbruk, du trenger bare 1/3 fornybar. Altså øke strømproproduksjonen med 33%, ikke doble den 1/
