Detective Xie Jiahua and Lu Guangming aren’t central characters in the novel, and their appearances especially Lu’s are quite limited. When they do show up, it’s usually in connection with cases involving the triads. With only 9 episodes in season one, there likely won’t be much focus on this pairing, but they might get more scenes in season two. Detective Lu is operating with a hidden agenda, and to accomplish what he’s after, he’ll have to team up with Detective Xie and later Chusan. More of that in season two. 😉

We’re finally getting Detective Xie Jiahua and Detective Lu Guangming (the second CP) in episode 5, but I’m curious how much screen time they’ll actually have. If it follows the novel, probably not much. They really are supporting characters there. IMO, Cui Dongdong seemed to have a stronger presence in the novel than this CP. Detective Lu barely appeared and only popped in occasionally. I do look forward to watching their drunken one-nighter. There's a small clip of it in the trailer. 🙊
