Today I learned Kevin Clash, who voiced and helped operate Splinter in the original TMNT movie, was also the voice and puppeteer of Elmo. What range!

The puppet for Splinter required 3 puppeteers to operate. Kevin Clash, who voiced Splinter, operated the head and movement, another operated the facial expressions, and the arms by another who tried to match Kevin's performance. Clash was also the voice and puppeteer of Elmo.

My heart goes out to those who don't know how much better the NBA was during the Bob Costas/Roundball Rock era. It made so many of us fall in love with sports.

June 12, 2002, NBA Finals Game 4 between the Lakers and Nets: The last NBA on NBC game. Bob Costas opened with a monologue about Shaq and Kobe creating a Lakers dynasty, then Roundball Rock and then NBC ran its original 1990 intro as a way to say goodbye.

The NBA on NBC did such a good job building the drama of a matchup into Roundball Rock. Made the games feel so important. Need this back in its new form.
