Police say Donald later took her out on what seemed like a normal date to the movies before suggesting they take a walk through a nearby park. That’s when prosecutors say he shot her in the back of the head and left her there to die. Officers responded after a 911 caller reported an unresponsive woman near a walking trail. When EMTs arrived, they found the pregnant victim lying in a fetal position. She was awake but unable to speak, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of her head. Doctors rushed her into emergency surgery and performed a C-section to save the baby. She spent two months in the hospital recovering before she was finally able to speak with investigators about what happened. Donald was later arrested and charged with attempted murder of both the mother and her unborn child. He has now been sentenced to 60 years in prison.
