Examples of habitats on our farm 🌱 They all play a vital role in supporting food production 🐑🐄 Having 10% habitat on a farm doesn’t mean taking land out of production ❌ Same applies to 🌳 SFS isn’t perfect but please remember this when responding to the consultation 🙏

No surprise that #Drax continues to burn down irreplaceable ancient forests for profits. What’s unbelievable is that the Govt still wants the UK public to pick up the tab for this obscene greenwashing travesty. Another £4bn by 2030? Indefensible. bbc.co.uk/news/science-e…

Planting a hedge & to replace one lost 40yr ago. We are mid-way putting in 600m this winter, which will take us up to about 97% of the hedges which were on our farm 200yr ago. Hedges & trees & wildlife habitats are part of our farm. It is food AND nature. It can be done 🌳🥛

Ponds that sometimes dry out are great for wildlife and are called ‘ephemeral wetlands’… we’ve a heap of them and they are full of frogspawn Insects love em even in summer when they dry out

Our 4th guiding principle : Increase Habitat Diversity At Every Level eg, generally, more biodiversity will be supported by: Mosaics of habitat in close proximity, like below A more diverse cropping rotation Grasslands with a wide mix of sward heights
