Parjinder Sidhu coordinates site operations, oversees instrumentation performance, and manages data collection and processing.

Ecosystem exchanges of #carbon, #water, and #energy are continuously measured using eddy covariance instrumentation, while soil greenhouse gas emissions are monitored through automated long-term chambers coupled with trace gas analyzers.

AgriFlux site 2 & 3: Sledge, MS The AgriFlux sites in Sledge, MS, were established in 2024 in collaboration with Mr. Sledge Taylor, a #regenerative farmer and the owner of Buckeye Farms in Como, MS. @txresearch

Meet our focus area lead: Dr. Gurjinder Singh Baath (@DigitAg_TX), GHG Modeling Dr. Baath is an Assistant Professor of #digitalagriculture in Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Temple and in @tamusoilcrop.

Our BNI trait in sorghum can reduce #nitrogen #fertilizer needs without yield penalty while lowering #N2O emissions, the leading greenhouse gas in agriculture, by building this advantage directly into the crop, benefiting farmers, water quality, and environmental outcomes.

We appreciated the opportunity to discuss BNI sorghum with others who share interest in its potential.

Launched in 2023 as a joint center of @txresearch and @TAMU, our work brings together expertise across Texas A&M to deliver producer-ready solutions: strengthening soil health, reducing input costs, and keeping working lands productive for generations.

Today, the @tamusystem Board of Regents approved the naming of our center as the Hood Family Center for Greenhouse Gas Management in Agriculture and Forestry in recognition of a $5 million endowment from the John and Sally Hood Family Foundation.

A key part of her work examines how #BNI compounds are produced and secreted by roots, including the #genetic and #molecular mechanisms that regulate their production, transport, and secretion. @TAMU @AgriLife @aglifesciences

As a Plant Physiologist, she is leading research focused on advancing crop varieties with biological nitrification inhibition (BNI) trait to improve #nitrogen retention and fertilizer-use efficiency.
