I really didn’t want to say anything, but here we are… all afternoon the guy across the street has been out doing yard work completely shirtless like he’s at the beach, not in the middle of a neighborhood where families are out walking and kids are riding bikes, and I tried to ignore it at first because it’s not my business, but after hours of it it just starts to feel unnecessary and out of place, especially when this isn’t some private backyard tucked away, it’s right out in the open where everyone has to see it, and at that point it stops feeling casual and starts feeling uncomfortable, and yeah maybe some people won’t care, but not everyone wants to deal with that while just going about their day, so I ended up making a formal complaint just so there’s a record, because if it keeps happening it’s only going to make things more awkward for everyone around here.

I paid a plumbing company $4,400 to replace a sewer line under my garage, and now my garage floor looks like it lost a fight with a sidewalk 😭 They cut a huge section out of the concrete, repaired the pipe, and patched it back in with concrete that doesn’t even remotely match the original floor. So I asked the foreman when they planned to stain or finish it so it would blend in better… And this man literally laughed and said: “It’s a garage floor, buddy, not the Taj Mahal. Be glad it’s not dirt.” 💀 BE GLAD IT’S NOT DIRT?? I’m sorry, but if I’m paying thousands of dollars for a “professional” repair, I feel like the end result shouldn’t look like a random parking lot patch job. Now I’m sitting here wondering if this just tanked the appearance — and possibly the resale value — of my garage. Would you push back and demand they resurface the area properly, or am I overreacting?

I’d ask why it was created. If there were evidence that White patients had difficulty finding White physicians, experienced worse outcomes because of it, or were seeking providers with shared lived experiences for a specific reason, that context would matter. It really is that simple.

So now a white physician has sued the online directory “Find A Black Doctor”, arguing that limiting participation to Black physicians constitutes racial discrimination. On its surface, the argument appears straightforward — should a physician directory be allowed to restrict membership based on race? But hold on. That framing misses the REAL question we should be asking— Why did Black patients feel they need a directory like this in the first place? Let’s go there.
