Big muscles for the sake of muscles are a waste of my time. Performance over aesthetics. If you don’t plan to compete in bodybuilding, no point becoming a mass monster 🤷🏿‍♂️ id rather my muscles be a side effect of my abilities.

Soreness ≠ Growth. Soreness does not make you stronger or bigger. The programmed increase in load over time (progressive overload) drives strength gains. Soreness is just an unfortunate byproduct of the eccentric (lengthening) phase of movements, like lowering into a squat or bench press. DOMS ( delayed onset muscle soreness) is an inflammatory response to unadapted eccentric work at the cellular level (damage to actin-myosin crossbridges in sarcomeres). It is not caused by lactic acid ( that burn you feel in the muscles that forces you to stop) . Exercises without much eccentric component (e.g. pushing a sled) produce little to no soreness Some soreness is normal and unavoidable in strength training, especially early on or after changes (e.g., increased volume or a layoff). However, a well-designed program minimizes debilitating soreness because the body adapts to the eccentric stress. You can make big strength and size gains with minimal ongoing soreness. Chronic or extreme soreness is counterproductive. It signals systemic inflammation (like having the flu), elevates cortisol, hinders recovery, and can impair performance in sports or daily life. Training specifically for soreness (e.g., random high-rep bodyweight workouts, “muscle confusion,” or infrequent varied exercises) is not a smart way to grow—it makes you hurt without building strength or new muscles. My advice? Train through mild soreness rather than waiting for it to fully subside (which can lead to repeated soreness cycles and detraining). Focus on consistent, heavy lifts with proper form and gradual progression. No point unnecessary suffering 🙏🏿

No one talks about how staying consistent at the gym means living with sore muscles 24/7.

This video was recorded by one of the insurgents as they go in search of water even under heavy attack by the Nigerian Armed Forces. Footage shows insurgents disoriented and under pressure during ongoing military operations in the Lake Chad region. The Nigerian Armed Forces continue sustained efforts to deny terrorists freedom of movement and disrupt their logistics.

When you’ve gotten stronger and built a better looking body than most men your age, those generic physical attributes get boring. If you’re physicality inclined, you search for more ways to push and develop the capacity and capabilities of the human body. That’s where I am right now…

Fitness has 5 components: Muscular strength ~ your ability to exert force over external object. Muscular Endurance~ how long you can exert that force without fatiguing. Cardiovascular endurance~ how effective your heart and lung are at supplying oxygen to your body for an extended physical activity duration. Flexibility ~ your body’s accessible range of motion. Body composition~ how much lean muscle mass and bone density you have in comparison to how much bodyfat you have stored. To be called a “fit” person , you need be above average on all these metrics. I think I’m past average on all, even tho my goals are less fitness based and more movement based. There are other components like speed, agility, balance, coordination and power. Training these specifically is a lot more advanced, nuanced and sport specific.

Running a marathon does not mean you are fit. Benching 200kilos does not mean you are fit.

Happiness and sadness are never permanent.—this too shall pass. When it’s all going good, remember, this too shall pass. When all feels wrong, remember, this too shall pass. Life comes in phases— all things shall pass away.

You’ve been training for 6 months and you can see a lot of improvements in strength, endurance and daily function—but you think your belly isn’t going off as fast as you want. You are disgruntled, you’re complaining , you’re tired, you think change is too slow🙂 Ask yourself how long it took to get to that stage, think about the years of doing the wrong things and messing up how your body functions. Think about the yo-yo dieting and how many times you’ve “lost weight” but gained it back double. Now you’re on a body recomposition Journey where you have a steady upward trajectory of more muscle and less body-fat and you want to quit because it’s not as “fast as you want it”. You want us to beg you, “don’t quit please🥹”. Nahhhhh, quit. Quit and see if you don’t hate yourself more in a month. You better don’t self sabotage. Training is forever. You are on a lifetime journey of physical self improvement— the finish line is the day you die. Till then you have to opportunity to be better than you were last month. Keep showing up and putting in the work, the results are inevitable . Stronger is better—get stronger🦍
