He’s the captain, the top center, he scored 34 goals, he has term, and a team-friendly cap hit.

This should be if you ask to be traded with three or more years left on your contract. Larkin’s situation is far different than a guy with one or two years left. Larkin put himself in this situation and never should have signed the extension.

Speaking to an #NHL Exec…he suggests if a player negotiates a no-trade or a no move clause in their contract but then requests to be traded prior to the expiration of their deal, the NTC should be voided and the team should be allowed to trade the player to any team in the league.
