Giannis shares a story about how Adidas tried to backdoor him early in his career by not trying to sign his brother, even though they agreed to, which led to him signing with Nike.
“So at 14, Adidas approached me and asked, “Would you sign with us?” “What? Yeah, of course,” and they said we’ll give you 5000 euros. At that time, I was making $300 per month on my team. I told them my brother was a better player than me at the time, “Do you guys mind if you sign my brother too?” They said, “Yeah, we’ll sign him for 5000 euros too.” I went to the office, the Adidas headquarters, and my mom came with me. They gave me the paper, and that’s when I realized, “Where was my brother’s contract?” They said, “No,no, you sign yours first, and then we’ll cover your brother.” “That’s not what you guys told me.” My mom was like, “This is $5000… I said, “No, Mom,no, I can’t do it.” Then I’m with my agent the next day, and a lady from Nike calls me, and they offered me and my brother $5000. That’s how Nike got me.” 🙏

@ared24@SkyedOKC 2023 was a dirty play by Kevin love which he still managed to come back from. 2024 the only year where he’s truly been completely unavailable for playoffs

@giannisjester@APH00PS@WindhorstESPN Giannis was cleared from the NBA top 5 last season after quitting once the playoff window closed *20 games in*
How does he average 30ppg worth of layups, dunks and uncalled offensive fouls and still miss the playoffs in the East. Even LeBron didn't do that

An Eastern Conference executive says teams should try to acquire Kawhi Leonard over Giannis Antetokounmpo because Leonard has been better and healthier the last two seasons, per @WindhorstESPN.
“Every day you hear about what's going to happen with Giannis [Antetokounmpo], but everyone ignores that Kawhi has been better and healthier over the last two seasons," an East executive said. "If you had a chance to acquire one or the other, I might go Kawhi."”
