No World Cup is worth this animal suffering

🚨 PLEASE HELP THE CATS AT THE BRITISH EMBASSY IN IRAQ 🚨 Shortly after the war in Iran began, War Paws was contacted by distraught Embassy personnel who alleged that a decision had been made to quietly remove all of the cats from the British Embassy in Baghdad compound whilst many staff had been evacuated. We were told there were plans to gather the cats up, transport them many miles away, and abandon them. Since then, we have received further reports alleging that feeding bans have been introduced and that the cats are being starved out to make them easier to catch and remove. We have also been told that staff caught feeding the cats face termination of employment (and this has already happened). These are not unmanaged stray cats. They are vaccinated, sterilised, tattooed for identification, and cared for by Embassy personnel. They provide rodent and insect control and offer emotional comfort to staff working in an extremely stressful environment. Removing them in such an inhumane way will not solve the issue. It will simply create empty territory for new, unvaccinated and un-neutered cats to move into the area. The world's largest offshore wind farm has been approved by the Scottish government despite concerns from conservationists that it could kill tens of thousands of seabirds and destroy coastal views. The wind turbines will cover a huge part of the iconic East Scotland coastline across Fife & Angus. For scale, each turbine will be taller than the Eiffel Tower - at an enormous 1,165 feet. Up to 307 turbines are earmarked for construction. A shameful blot on the landscape that is being developed despite huge local community and conservation objections.

2,637,578 'procedures' using animals were carried out in British laboratories throughout 2024, and 97 beagles were bred for scientific procedures but were killed or died without being used. But experiments on animals cannot accurately predict whether new drugs will be safe for humans. In fact, dog experiments only have a 27% ability to predict toxic effects in the liver. Herbie's law would set an ambition of phasing out animal experiments in medical research over the next decade, supporting the scientific community with transition to more modern techniques.
