Over twenty years now since I edited Lewis Grassic Gibbon's essays, short stories and poetry for this, and his fine, strong words still resound in my mind. Remembering James Leslie Mitchell, born Hillhead of Seggat otd in 1901. RIP. canongate.co.uk/books/249-smed…

Jo Miller singing The Sang o Stirling Toon last night at the Stirling Walking the Marches fundraiser, written by her son Neil Sutcliffe & Evie Waddle. Alyn Smith spoke powerfully, too, about Stirling as a European, welcoming city. Join us on 30th May: stirlingwalkingthemarches.org

Super day at Community Archives' & Heritage Group of @ScotsArchives Conference -- inspiring, challenging and brain-filling! Thanks to Audrey, Marissa, BSL interpreters and student volunteers. Off now to engage in Intangible Culture as a Stirling Birlawman. What a great day!

Not sure where, or when, we are for this week's #WeeDaunderDoonMemoryLane - but we love this pic of some very stylish gentlemen out cycling! The campaign to bring back biking boaters starts here... 🚲

What better way to celebrate #TowerTuesday than with a lovely pic of our #VeryFamousTower in the sunshine at the weekend? You're right, there's no better way. Thanks to local follower Evelyn for this brilliant photo!

We don’t really know how high Mousa survived to, as it got tidied up by the ministry of works! But perhaps the tallest surviving pre-Christian building in NW Europe!
Iain Cameron@theiaincameron

The best-preserved pre-Christian building in the UK. The Broch of Mousa, on a small island in Shetland, is 2,300 years old and almost its original height. It is the most complete example of this type of building, one of 500 built in Scotland and nowhere else.

The rather wonderful little Earthquake House on the edge of Comrie in Perthshire. It was erected in 1874 to collect data about the many tremors felt in what is known as the earthquake capital of the UK. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/comrie/earthqu…
