Excited to share a new paper from our lab: #Ivermectin reduces withdrawal-driven alcohol intake in genetically diverse (HS) rats. We link P2rx4 genetic liability to stronger post-vapor escalation, and show Ivermectin (a P2X4 PAM) blunts escalated drinking, tracking with enhanced CeA GABAergic inhibition in responders.  #AUD #Neuropharmacology sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Thrilled to share our latest paper in Neuropharmacology in collaboration with the @TeleseFrancesca and @AbePalmer Labs at @PsychiatryUcsd. We explored how perinatal fentanyl exposure promotes persistent addiction vulnerability and alters gene expression in the central amygdala in a novel rat model, revealing heightened withdrawal symptoms, increased drug-seeking, and dysregulated GPCR signaling pathways.
