@GiselFlorez And open calls that are not blind or random perform *worse than random* for people starting from the outside, so the thinking here is that random would be preferable to anything currently on offer

Dear art community, I love you. I rarely give advice, but I’m going to do it now. The community is shrinking. We all know it’s true. X is so much larger than our closed-off group. Most of us have at least 1,000 followers on X. We know how to build communities. I encourage you to expand your friendship circle. I’m not saying you should leave the art community. I’m saying that you should expand your circle beyond art. Recently, I’ve made 500 new friends. Meeting new people is a wonderful thing. I hope y’all will consider my suggestion. Have a great weekend 😊
