Within a few weeks, we should know which narrative is correct concerning the US/Iran war.
Either the U.S. and Israel have degraded Iranian missile launchers to the point of certain victory, or the Iranians are only at the beginning of their missile (and drone) onslaught.
The Iranian navy, air defense, and surface buildings, have been crushed. However, no one knows how many underground installations have also been neutralized.
If the Iranians are able to pop off ballistic missiles into US bases and Israel for the next few weeks, the future is very dire.
The US/Israel narrative today says Iran is the “the loser of the Middle East”. If true, missile launches should slow to a trickle within the coming weeks, if not days.
If that does not happen, the President needs to declare victory and get the hell out.
U.S. interceptor stockpiles will be exhausted in 4-5 weeks. Zelensky has already burned through everything we might have had in reserve.
A third U.S. carrier strike force is preparing to head to the area. The 82nd Airborne may also be deployed. This is the same escalation latter that we always seem to employ.
This is before even discussing the Strait of Hormuz or the future price of oil. That alone will be enough to collapse the European economies and trash our own.
Iran fought Iraq to a standstill after eight years of war and a million deaths. U.S. support for Saddam Hussein helped prevent an outright Iranian victory, but eight years of horrific war and there was no Iranian surrender.
Some very tough weeks are ahead of us.
