Roman looking straight into the camera after Punk knocked him out and basically admitting he got in his head… that was the best part of the whole segment. I’m usually not a fan of tearing your opponent down to the point where they look weak, washed, or unworthy, like Roman did with Punk. Running him down, calling his title a joke, questioning his main event status… it felt like too much at first. But that final moment flipped everything. Roman doesn’t actually believe all that. He knew exactly what he was doing. He targeted Punk’s insecurities and exploited them. Punk brought up Roman’s family to get under his skin, Roman tried firing back the same way by mentioning AJ, it didn’t land, so he pivoted and went psychological… and it worked. “That’s the king of the mental game?” Yeah, this feud keeps getting better.
