Hi All,
The Quantitative Fluorescence Lifetime Microscopy (QFLIM) conference at NIH Nov. 3-4, 2025 is happening!
Happy to say, after navigating various policies, this conference is a full go, in a new format.
Jay Knutson and Chris Combs (both of NIH) have really outdone themselves as academic organizers. Two days of speakers, with demos of various systems available.

Recently, the first two MIRAVA POLYSCOPEs were installed in North America: @NorthwesternU and @Yale are now home to our newest microscopy platform, facilitating imaging across scales from millimeters to 3 nm resolution. We are looking forward to many groundbreaking findings and exciting publications! (Video shows the installaton at Northwestern)

Look folks: the US has completely ceased funding biomedical research. This is a catastrophe on so many levels: making new discoveries, supporting existing labs, training the next generation of scientists, US competitiveness...

I’m doing the Kübler-Ross dance rn and it sucks. Denial was maybe 5 minutes. Anger was more “rage” and that’s been most almost all day. I’m not sure about the “bargaining” phase. Wtf is that? Is that me trying to figure out why all the young men voted for a guy who is going to screw them into child support payments because they won’t have access to birth control? or all the latino males watching their families/amigos get deported? And if I hear anyone say they couldn’t vote for Kamala because of her position on Gaza when DJT is shoving his boot into Muslim behind FFS - ! or me trying to reconcile how DJT FINALLY won a popular vote when exit polls showed that ppl loathed him? I think I’m in the bargaining phase of Kübler-Ross rn. Sux. Can’t wait for depression phase to kick in. That’s gonna be a blast.
