NI HEMS are delighted to welcome latest recruit Andy McIlhatton. This week was initial training at @AirAmbulanceNI air base under the watchful eye of Dan Rose. After training and some observation, Andy should be cleared to fly, bringing lifesaving care to those in greatest need.

Really informative visit today with the wonderful Air Ambulance Northern Ireland at their base at the Maze site. What am incredible job they do. Big plans ahead and looking forward to working with them as they go from strength to strength, saving lives and supporting people 🚁 🧡

Today is one of those days where understanding the weather and predicted forecasts for the day ahead is vital for the HEMS crew. The airdesk and HEMS crew communicate regularly and use different technology modalities to get real time info to support tasking decision making.

Dr Derek Hrabovsky is hanging up his flight suit after today. Derek has clocked up over 7 years at NI HEMS. He was instrumental in setting up the governance processes for HEMS to deliver pre-hospital blood 👏and will be very much missed by all at HEMS. Good luck for the future
