11/ This law should have been opposed by every freedom-loving person in the country. But most people did not even know it was happening. Most people did not understand what it actually does. Most people did not connect the dots between car shutoff controls and the broader surveillance state being built around them. And now it is law. And the infrastructure is being installed. And your ability to move freely is being handed over to a system that can disable your vehicle with the push of a button.

🧵 THREAD 1/ A new law was passed requiring all cars to have shutoff controls that can override the driver. The government can now mandate technology in your vehicle that monitors your behavior and shuts down your car if the system decides you are impaired or driving unsafely. They sold this as protecting drivers. As preventing drunk driving. As making the roads safer. That is a lie. This is not about protecting drivers. This is about control.
