Before settling down, a man should ask himself some hard questions. If your marriage depends entirely on financial support from your family, what happens after the wedding? What is your plan for sustaining your home when that support is no longer there?
Marriage is not just a ceremony. It comes with real responsibilities. If you start a family without a stable source of income, how will you provide when children come into the picture? Will you go back to the same people who funded your wedding to keep you afloat?
This is why it is important to reflect early. Think about the money you have spent on temporary pleasures and impulsive decisions. If even a portion of that had been invested into building something sustainable, your position today might be very different.
Take a step back. Reassess your priorities. Build first, then commit.

If Men can treat their health and bodies the way they treat their cars , there will be less sudden deaths amongst the under 50s. Why will you pamper your car, service it, oil it at least once a year but we have to beg and literally drag you for hospital appointments and check?

I saw an 18-year-old in labour. Her tiny frame shook with each labour pain. I shuddered at the thoughts of a baby ripping her apart from inside out.
Her parents were farmers. They had rushed her from the health centre after labouring for some hours.
Her boyfriend was also a farmer. Seeing him pacing up and down the corridors, I just knew he was clueless about the situation, the girl had just been booked for emergency CS
Miraculously, they didn't argue about her having a Caesarean Section, and they came prepared.
The girl's mother said she had been saving money to send her to school, that since she decided to end up like herself - an illiterate, the least she can do is to ensure she survive childbirth. So she came with the money she saved for her school.
Anyway, she had a 'bouncing baby boy', and everyone is happy.
But I can't stop thinking about how different her life would have been if she had access to sex education, if contraception was available, if teenage pregnancy wasn't so common in our villages.
Having a baby at 18, with no education, and no career, is a future shaped in a moment of ignorance.
We need to do better for our girls.

Let me say it plainly.
My wife cannot make me happy.
She can add joy to my life, bring peace, love, comfort, and partnership.
But she cannot become the source of my fulfillment.
That is God’s job.
This is where many people lose the plot.
Jada seems to have lost it and Will seems to have found it.
They enter relationships expecting a human being to heal emptiness, remove confusion, fix identity issues, and give them constant happiness.
If you have not found joy in God and some level of peace within yourself, marriage will not solve it.
It will reveal and magnify it.
People are good companions. They are terrible gods.
