@RazorFist Globally Catholicism is growing. In America it is treading water. The good news is the converts and reverts usually have a high quality faith. The best news is that all Christianity is growing worldwide and atheism is stalling/losing ground.

Brother. No. For every 10 new Roman converts, 8 leave. If 'Former Roman Catholic' were a denomination, it would be the 3rd largest in the world. Not only is Rome not growing, it is bleeding out faster than many of the rapidly-declining mainlines. Really, (and lamentably) the lowest-Church Protestants, such as Charismatics, are the only ones growing significantly at all. I don't say this as an "own". My own tradition is not exactly exploding. I'm saying it because what you bring someone into your tradition with... is also what needs to hold them there. If you bring converts in with lies. Those very lies will be the thing that drives them away. And it may drive them away from faith entirely.

Hispanic Catholics in America, in my experience, are LESS likely than Boomer Catholics to go to confession or weekly Mass. So it’s no wonder they & Dems are attracted to each other. Veneer of religion, fake moralizing on how we MUST allow mass migration, vote for godlessness.

A lot of people celebrating mass immigration to America as “importing millions of Catholics” are woefully misled. Hispanics are less Catholic than they’ve ever been in almost 500 years, and even the nominal Catholics largely don’t even go to Mass or participate in the sacraments

@james_d_baird Your church is a statistical anomaly. On average, a PCA church would only see about 3 converts per year from Catholicism. One of your church’s size might see 5-10 per year.

Our American Protestant brothers should not confuse American Catholics’ loyalty to Church over State in what we perceive to be moral/spiritual issues for disloyalty to America. It’s the same problem we have with abortion and gay marriage in the USA.

Catholics did not build America. Catholics a small, albeit fairly important, minority in America’s founding. Catholics have always been there and are part of the American tapestry, but let’s not overstate it. You can be a proud American Catholic, embodying the values of both.

Now imagine just 10% of those former Republican Catholics FLIP their vote? Now you’re looking at 16 more House seats & 2 more Senate seats up for grabs. That’s the power of the Catholic vote in America. So all I’m saying is: tread lightly on the Anti-Catholicism, politicians.

If even 1/4 of that 13% got disgusted enough with Republicans to just not even vote or vote 3rd party, that’s a 3.25% total loss. That means if you were winning 51-48-1, now you lose. Using recent numbers, that’s about 24 House seats and 4 Senate seats. Yikes!

Catholics lean slightly Republican in voting (50-48-2). Practicing Catholics lean Republican (60-35-5) and Nominal Catholics lean Democrat (60-35-5). The Catholic vote makes up 25% of the voting public, half of that being Republican. Can Republicans really afford to lose us?
