@futristick @Jacobkupp nice yeah thank you i might message you about this in the soon-future. in what ways someone can possibly get these is a question, your returns are still significantly below my estimated fulltime day rate [well ofc they are, yr doing part time!]
English

@glosseantics @Jacobkupp haven't seriously done it in a year+ but I can see several dozen "long-term" (their terminology) $30-40+ tasks, a few $50+, 1x $60+
for anecdata, my experience is of doing it occasionally for extra cash as a student, spending a few weekends grinding, total $10k+ over 3ish years
English

@futristick @Jacobkupp [[this is actually a similar playbook to facebooks t&s moderators in the latter half of the 2010s]]
English

@futristick @Jacobkupp this is actually an interesting development in their gameplan to me bc it can entail that people they are hiring without domain knowledge are actually able to make more than those with, and are shut out from tasks otherwise ---!
English

@futristick @Jacobkupp yeah yeah okay true there im approximating for 'how much one is feasibly assigned' and 'how they assign'
English

@glosseantics @Jacobkupp at least in the case of DA it's basically all hourly, the number of queries for a given task is functionally unlimited
English

@adastroworld @Jacobkupp jobs in the industry, like, dont say youre doing data annotation, you will never get hired! it's infuriating!
English

@adastroworld @Jacobkupp it's certainly in some regards, like, better than pennies a day for the third world, but as it becomes closer and closer to something like. people in our 'peer circles' can and will do, the convo has become silent -- and publically admitting to this seems to red flag for a lot of
English

@atonal440 @eris_nerung they're very much banking on 'in between jobs' meaning something much different than it once did -__-
English

@atonal440 @eris_nerung [[we now have a pipeline for autodidactic neets that due to social pressures of tech jobs or academic jobs themselves means that having this in your history will exclude u from higher level work!!!! waaaaah!!!]]
English

@nocitizens @Jacobkupp oh jan 2026 ok. i am 🙄 about a lot of phil neel stuff but this should at least have empirical stuff that helps w/ direction tysm
English

@eris_nerung [[this is not at all to defend the current conditions obviously, just that thinking about them as conditions have changed to be more attractive to the standard working class / student class changes things]]
English

@eris_nerung yeah i am interested in where you were looking @ and when, this is definitely the case with some providers and was the case throughout all of 2024 afaiu -- i say im not going to actively work on this but. we'll see. at the least intel is intel
English

@eris_nerung if you can demonstrate Domain Knowledge [which often comes not from degree , which doesnt matter, but from extensive writeups in your application] now you can get multiple $10 queries a day
English

@eris_nerung its gotten so much better monetarily [tho still exploitative wage in the west] and has become so much more of a Skilled Job, like DA currently has you write prompt injections for the initial application -- genuinely scary and fascinating
