On average, for a 10’ foot putt, with perfect speed and line you’ll miss 1/3 of the time.
This is due to surface uncertainty!

Ever looked down after a tight approach on a par 3 and discovered your tee snapped in half? We all have!
But as our @USGAGrnSection explains, disposing of it properly will help protect both the grass and mowers.

If your life feels off, there’s a good chance your picker is broken.
It’s not your strategy, your work ethic, or your ambition.
It’s probably your “picker.”
The people you choose to bring into your life, like partners, spouses, hires, co-founders, and friends, shape almost everything.
Your outcomes are downstream of those decisions. And yet most people treat this like it’s random.
They hire based on gut feel.
They date based on chemistry.
They partner based on convenience.
Then they’re surprised when things fall apart.
You have to start seeing your picker as a skill.
And like any skill, it can be trained.
Start with clarity.
What are you actually trying to build? A great company? A strong marriage? A tight-knit team?
Each of those requires a different kind of person. If you’re vague on the vision, you’ll be vague in your selection.
Next, get brutally honest about fit.
Not “do I like them?” or “are they impressive?”
But: are they right for this role, in this season, for this mission?
A great person can still be the wrong fit.
Then look at your patterns.
Do you keep hiring the same profile that doesn’t work out?
Do your relationships follow the same arc?
That’s your picker on autopilot.
The highest-performing leaders I know are ruthless about this.
They’ve learned the hard way that one wrong person can cost you years, and one right person can change everything.
So audit your circle.
Your future isn’t just built by what you do.
It’s built by who you choose.

Sure there was some sort of national championship Monday. Let’s talk important stuff. A 208 (275 with handicap) in my last game of the 2025-26 bowling season and a third-place finish in the individual tournament at Sunset Lanes. Content for @HotMicWDAY with @DomIzzoWDAY Tuesday.
