@puckempire @DarrenDreger He hasn’t been mistreated in this situation, in any way. If his NTC is too rigid and his contract is too large, there’s only so much the org can reasonably do. “Cheap” as it may be, Ownership doesn’t have to pay partial salary for a player to contribute to another team

When did agreeing to a contract extension to facilitate a trade become a player's obligation? Andersson didn't "handcuff" the Flames by his unwillingness to do so, they handcuffed themselves by waiting too long. You know exactly when a player's contract expires, plan accordingly.

@Terrytaoe @davedubbin85 He’s 29 and could ultimately block Parehk or Bruz. Mange is the only one on that list that a) was NOT a pending UFA and/or b) didn’t ask to be traded. I’ve followed this team since 1995. They hold vets until their UFA year or value falls off; then get a bunch of meh on the return

People should not be mad at Rasmus Andersson for not wanting to sign an extension anywhere.
Be mad at the #Flames who once again held on to an asset for too long and didn't get max value for him.
This is yet another example of why the Flames need to be a forward thinking team.

@FriedgeHNIC Oh @NHLFlames. IF ONLY there was a way to get *quality* prospects back, by trading players BEFORE their UFA year, when they’re forced to commit to a new team for 8yrs. Since it’s impossible to trade vets that arent pending UFAs, I could see how this would be hard! CC @bradpascall
