This is directly from my newsletter today, but I think it is a lesson that everybody needs to hear about AI security: Before you connect it to your company's files, ask who else can see what it sees. Before you paste sensitive information into a tool you don't control, ask where that data goes after you hit enter. The people building these tools are moving fast because that's what the market rewards. The people deploying them are moving fast because they don't want to fall behind. But nobody in that chain is incentivized to slow down and ask whether the security infrastructure is ready for what we're plugging into it. And from where I sit, it's not. AI is the most powerful tool most of us have ever had access to. But a tool is only as safe as the system it's connected to. And right now, we're connecting it to everything, securing almost nothing, and hoping that the efficiency gains outweigh whatever comes next.

One thing most successful traders always emphasize: Protect what you’ve made. Too many traders built 7-figure accounts only to end up giving most of it back. It’s not what you make short term, it’s what you keep long term that matters.

I had dinner once with a top physicist and a top computer scientist and asked what they thought the probability was that we were in a simulation. They answered simultaneously at 0% and 100% respectively. It was like a double-slit experiment, but with humans.

Reinforcing negative neural pathways via therapy or introspection is a recipe for misery. Don’t cut a rut in the road.

"They're betting everyone's lives: 8 billion people, future generations, all the kids, everyone you know. It's an unethical experiment on human beings, and it's without consent." — AI researcher Prof. Roman Yampolskiy on the development of superintelligence. We can prevent it.
