Making waves. @3XN_GXN has shared images of construction progress on the impressive new Sydney Fish Market in the city’s Blackwattle Bay. Beneath its distinctive wave-like timber roof — the largest timber roof in the Southern Hemisphere — the four-storey complex will house specialty food retailers, restaurants, cafes, and new public space. While the existing Sydney Fish Market has long been a staple among Sydneysiders, Australians and visitors, 3XN hopes that its design will “elevate the market as a top tourist destination”. The building and its surrounding development is projected to more than double the number of visitors to the area over the next ten years. On its website, Sydney Fish Market describes the project as “the most significant harbourside building since the Opera House.” Works are due to complete in 2025. 📷 3XN/GXN

Sometimes simple ideas lead to amazing results. Lucas Zimmermann’s long exposure photos of traffic lights are a perfect example of that.

1/3 🌄 The Taishanyou Visitor Center, designed by @lineplus_studio in Tai’an, Shandong, embodies the unity of architecture and nature. Completed in 2021, this 4,400 sqm structure embraces the contours of Mount Tai, using a flowing, spiral form that mirrors the surrounding landscape.
