🌿 Circulation and services are pushed to one side of each floor, freeing the center for open and flexible living spaces. Located in Morelia, this six-story residential project reinterprets the modernist character of the Chapultepec neighborhood through light, privacy, and openness. Its east façade is wrapped in aluminum shutters that filter morning sunlight while preventing direct views, while the southern façade opens toward the Sierra de Santa María mountain range.

Defined by raw concrete, slanted windows, handmade surfaces, and intentional asymmetry, the project resists the polished uniformity of contemporary architecture. Some have described it as “anarchi-tecture,” but Oka sees it as proof that slower, collective making can create architecture with real character. In 2024, large-scale redevelopment cleared the surrounding buildings, forcing the entire structure to be moved back 10 meters using hikiya, a traditional Japanese relocation technique.
