Before we finished 15th, lost a final to Spurs, and won consecutive games on just one occasion, this is what he was saying. This u-turn, and framing it as it always being part of his plan, is bizarre to me.

And who are Newcastle going to get at this late stage of the window with suitable targets moved elsewhere? Yoane Wissa is not like for like. Newcastle need two anyway with Callum Wilson gone.
