Just one. She didn't medal. She didn't even rank. One trans woman out of 62,000 women athletes over 126 years of the modern Olympics, and no medals. This ban on trans women isn't about fairness. It never was. It's about politics and pandering. It's about the IOC needing to get in good with the Trump admin. It's about a needless "solution" to a problem that didn't exist in the first place, and history will not be kind to this embarrassing abdication of morality and ethics.

Bambury, an aspiring rapper who performs under the names Rush or Hush It’s Rush, had taken the dogs, Lulu and My Boy, to a vet to be put down. Both dogs were emaciated with wounds on their tails down to the bone. The vet, who had seen the young dogs 19 months earlier, was shocked to see them in such poor condition and informed Bambury they would be contacting the RSPCA. Lulu had a body condition score of just one to two out of nine. She had muscle wasting on her back and pelvis and her tail had bone showing at the end. She also had pressure sores over the point of her pelvis where a lack of muscle and fat meant the bones were rubbing against the ground when she sat. Her paws were soft as if they’d never walked outside on the ground and the nails were overgrown. My Boy was in a similar emaciated state with a tail which showed signs of repeated trauma. His feet also had overgrown nails and very softened pads In a court report, the vet said: “I have never seen animals with such soft paw pads over the age of six-months-old.” It is believed that both dogs were put down. Bambury pleaded guilty to an animal welfare offence in an RSPCA prosecution case.
