Church of England debates about choosing bishops have managed to get coverage this week on the BBC and in the The Times. I've offered an account and reflections here - psephizo.com/life-ministry/…

Have attempted to offer some sort of overview of the Church of England LLF situation in this piece just out on the Covenant/Living Church website. livingchurch.org/covenant/episc…
@JohnPaulHoskins@patrickgilday Most likely would be the various signatories of statement on Doctrine of Marriage, Dissent from October House of Bishops and last week’s reflections on where we are now. Also Society bishops some of whom signed the above.
@goddardaj@patrickgilday Thanks, Andrew - there is some logic to that! Do you have any sense who among the current CofE bishops would be sympathetic to CP? It's not immediately obvious.
Can anyone remember the Windsor Report? Failure by the CofE to adopt the Anglican Communion Covenant was a disaster. There are still a few bishops in the US and Canada who publicly support “Communion Partners”. But none in the CofE. Why not? communionpartners.org/bishops/

@liambeadle@samhwilson@Psephizo That would be another interpretation but the bishops claimed it was based on doctrine so changing what they based on doctrine can be seen as indicative of a departure from doctrine. We now have "pastoral provision in a time of uncertainty" which means still held to be canonical
I've written something engaging with an important new piece by Bishop Martyn Snow the Lead Bishop on LLF which is now on @Psephizo's blog at psephizo.com/sexuality-2/re…
@liambeadle@samhwilson@Psephizo Para 26 - "We have therefore come to the view that, in so far as making the PLF available for couples in an active sexual relationship does involve any departure from doctrine, it nevertheless does not involve a departure from doctrine “in any essential matter”".
