Happy Friday to all the Alberta separatists out there! I know weekends don’t mean much to most of you since you either don’t have jobs or have been retired for 20 years. Having some success prepping for gardening season. Right side is for the garden plot, left for our balcony planting boxes. We also have another dozen or so things to sow directly in the ground. @Social_Moi can I interest you in a Cantaloupe or a choclolate cherry tomato plant? 1/

@Social_Moi You're too kind. Thank you! It's really a simple setup. I'm just fortunate to have it. Not gonna lie, my knowledge of hydroponics is from books. I've never tried it. I won't be surprised to see good things come from it tho. It's a very efficient method of growing.

We're in a 32x32 tent. Using a Spider Farmer SF1000 grow lamp with varied light intensity to approximate the rising and setting sun. As well as the appropriate ProMix potting mixtures for each variety. The lamp and each fan(there are 2)are on their own timers. 3/3

Marigolds didn't come up, so we had to get new seeds and try again. Hence the sad looking pair of trays on the right side. Just a couple of weeks behind. No biggie. Not planting the garden til the end of the month. 2/

Pay no attention to the marigolds down the middle of the right side. Our original batch didn't come up, so that is our late start 2nd chance with new seeds.

Happy Spring folks. Just wanted to post a quick photo of early prep work for the outdoor planting season. The tray on the left is all for the flower boxes on our balcony. The right side is for our Peace garden plot. We have a bunch of direct sow stuff for the garden as well. 🐝

Brunch with a view. The talented chefs at le Butterblume in action. We started with the carrot, ginger & orange zest soup. I had the caramelized onion toast with bacon, poached egg, and honeycrisp apples. My wife had the potato frittata with onions and roasted ham, and confit cherry tomatoes.
