Fuck it, i’ll just say it. I’ve been side-eyeing this specific group of profic players on xyztwt and applefishtwt ever since the drama with an ex-moot back in january. They get weirdly defensive over otome games and turn aggressive the moment queer players ask for basic inclusivity or simply request people not be homophobic. And this same group keeps pulling the “protecting women’s spaces” argument against queer players, twisting it like we’re misogynists trying to take this game away from women when nobody is asking for that or demanding the game change. People are literally just asking for the fandom to be more inclusive. But let’s be real, when a lot of you, if not the majority, are queerphobic, of course you’d rather play deliberately obtuse and paint queer players as the problem. And don’t even get me started on the anti-fujo rhetoric. The queerphobia has always been there, but lately y’all have gotten way more comfortable showing it. It’s shameless to label yourselves profic/proshippers when queer people built and continue to be the backbone of this space. Without them, I doubt you’d even have the freedom to exist in fandoms so openly. And it’s honestly wild how you talk about “protecting women’s spaces” while actively bullying and dogpiling queer women and making this space hostile and unwelcoming for us.
