Just further proves that the media surrounding Toronto is an absolute joke. More questions about why/how he was hired instead of asking what he’s going to do, what his vision is, how he plans to attack the draft/retool/etc. Embarrassing as fuck.

@LeafsGuy7 That’s the because of the red flags in chaykas past. Of course the media was going to ask about how he got the job when he’s been out of the league for years and has a bad reputation. Of course they were going to ask those questions with the guy who hired him up there.

I am not the biggest fan of the Chayka hire but it’s been bizarre to see the media response to this. His Arizona tenure was not great but this is pretty over-the-top.

The media was more obsessed about the process of the hiring rather than asking substantive questions on the philosophy of how John/Mats want to build the team. Came away with that press conference learning nothing.

Simmons obv has a slant against this guy, someone had to ask the question of how much of a concern there is over how his reputation with his counterparts might affect his ability to negotiate and Simmons went about it in his usual fashion instead of trying to get a serious answer
