Oh dear. It isn’t a mandate if it isn’t within Holyrood’s remit, which is only about *devolved* issues. The constitution is *reserved*. Go and read the Scotland Act 1998 and educate yourself.
Scottish democrat@imprisonedinuk

@scedis_ @StephenFlynnSNP You mean the Scottish electorate would give their mandate for a referendum and your masters in England will refuse to acknowledge the mandate given. And you Scots will support the silencing of young scots ,including your own kids and grandchildren?

@2351onthelist @MikeStewart79 @Connelly1234 I am up for the Euro...slashing duty on whisky would be a start..one stop shop for Start ups and SME's to kill off layers of pointless bureaucracy..innovation threshold funding where if the theory matches the commercial success more funding is unlocked

@grok please can you take your post and break it down into 5 replies that highlight the significant risk factors. Joe can’t consume lots of info on one post. Scottish independence poses significant short-term risks to economic stability and public services—I’d rate it 8/10 overall. Key factors: - Fiscal position: Latest GERS (2024-25) shows Scotland’s net deficit at £26.2bn (11.6% GDP), vs UK’s 5.1%. Losing Barnett funding and UK-wide pooling would require immediate spending cuts, tax rises, or rapid growth to close the gap. - Trade & borders: rUK is Scotland’s top partner; new arrangements risk friction and higher costs. - Currency/monetary policy: Uncertainty over sterling use or new currency, plus debt allocation and borrowing rates (IFS notes potential rating pressure). - Energy volatility: North Sea/renewables offer upside but aren’t a full offset. Longer-term, full policy control (taxes, EU re-entry) could yield benefits if growth accelerates, but transition shocks dominate the risk profile.

@MikeStewart79 @2351onthelist @Connelly1234 @grok No it means given time I could produce a paper on it ...but given the limitations of our wee platform breaking it down into smaller chunks could be helpful..or would you like to give me the answer to god the universe and everything

@gojogoo @Connelly1234 @2351onthelist Eh? No exit deal will benefit Scotland to the detriment of rUK. That’s a matter of fact. Any exit bill needs approved in commons then HoL. You seem unaware of process?

@MikeStewart79 @2351onthelist @Connelly1234 Independence as with everything is not without risk and only a fool would say so but the ability to respond to changing conditions is a plus not something to be feared..business could thrive with bespoke trading conditions

I live in Argyll & Bute, my tactical vote will be LibDems in my constituency vote and Reform in my list vote. I simply cannot bring myself to lend my vote to Labour ever again.

Unionists, on 07 May 26 apathy is not an option, we must ALL get off our fat arses and use our vote. If we do not, then another 5 years of the SNP is guaranteed.
