My cancellable opinion on relationships is that people who are aware they are emotionally unavailable should not seek a relationship that they cannot provide a basic foundation for, knowing the other person will be neglected. It's unfair and takes advantage of people for their capacity, who then struggle to leave once attachment is built, and endure heartbreak either way. It's PERFECTLY OKAY to stay single until you address your emotional or attachment issues - I haven't had a boyfriend in 6 years, and much of that time was spent addressing my trauma so I wouldn't cause problems for someone else, and I survived! You can too - seek connection from friends and family in the meantime, but do not assign some poor person the task of ensuring emotional neglect until you decide to act ethically!
