My husband and I booked a flight months in advance for our honeymoon. We booked 4A and 4C in First Class so we could talk, relax, and celebrate.
We board the plane, get to row 4, and there is already a woman sitting in my seat, 4C. My husband politely looks at her and says, "Oh, hi, sorry, I think you might be in my wife's seat."
The woman looks up, sighs dramatically, and says, "The gate agent moved her. I need this seat because of my medical condition. She's in 12D."
12D is Comfort Plus. Not First Class.
I immediately look at my phone—sure enough, the airline app had refreshed while we were walking down the jet bridge and changed my seat without a single notification or warning. My husband instantly flagged down the lead flight attendant. He explained that we paid thousands for these specific seats for our honeymoon, and I was absolutely not moving to a lower class because someone else made a last-minute demand at the gate.
The flight attendant went to speak to the woman, who instantly started crying, claiming we were "harassing" her. The flight attendant then turned to my husband and whispered, "Can't you just be a gentleman so we can take off on time?"
The sheer audacity. My husband stood his ground. "If she has a medical need for First Class, she can buy a First Class ticket. Give my wife her seat back, or get the supervisor down here right now."
They eventually moved the woman back to her original seat in coach, but for the rest of the flight, the flight attendant completely penalized us. She ignored our drink orders and literally slammed our snack baskets onto our trays. Sorry for wanting the seat we actually paid for, I guess?

@MelbunMan @GetOn78 Absolutely pathetic! Zerafa, in particular, couldn’t pick his own nose. Makes one wonder if these blokes are on pay day loans! Or, are they leading us all astray on purpose??

@puntingbattler Wish he would stop crying! It’s getting embarrassing.

@JamieMagill5 Yes, pretty good but I can go back much further! The teams of the late 50’s thru the 60’s and 70’s I reckon couldn’t be matched. Some really great household names. When the County Championship meant something!

@MelbunMan They’re all bloody hopeless. Best to judge your own opinions.

@Gosstradamus1 Unbelievable! Whoever is in charge of production at Sky has no idea of what the punters require.

@Keir_Starmer And what do you say about attacks on Jews, Mr Starmer?
English

I condemn the deadly attack on a mosque in San Diego. My thoughts are with those affected.
I know many Muslims in the UK will be shaken by this, worried about their safety when going about their lives and attending mosque, and what it says about the times we’re living in. I understand those fears.
Violence like this does not happen in a vacuum. It grows in an environment where division and anti-Muslim hostility are normalised.
That is intolerable. We must all come together against it.

@FootballInT80s When the FA Cup meant something, and played in a wonderful stadium!
English

It’s impossible to overstate my love for the FA Cup in this era — and this match.
On 16/05/1987, I was nearly 10, a fan of neither club, but that day is etched in my memory.
Iconic kits, brilliant players, and a ding-dong match, all played out in the Wembley sunshine on that unique-looking pitch.
The FA Cup was so special.

@blake_shinn What sort of people are running racing in Victoria? First they get the Vet position wrong(heads should roll), and now they offload Alf M ! What a disgrace. And both Guaci and Alf M told to reapply for their jobs! The people who should go are the ones at the top.

Alf Matthews was there when I first started my apprenticeship and was big help to my early development. Not many better out there to help young riders. #unbelievable
