H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud performed Eid al-Adha prayers at the Islamic Union Mosque in Mogadishu. The President congratulated the Somali people on the blessed occasion and wished continued stability, unity, and prosperity for our country.

It’s intensely emotional & exciting at the same time to witness an 84 years old cast his vote for the first time. His conviction to participate in democratic elections by exercising his constitutional right to elect local council & state parliament representatives is priceless.

H.E. President @HassanSMohamud participated in a Leaders’ Panel at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, held in Antalya, Türkiye. In his remarks, the President highlighted the value of diplomacy in fostering trust and promoting peaceful engagement among nations. He noted that “constructive dialogue and collaboration remain essential to addressing shared challenges and advancing common interests.” The President also underscored Somalia’s role as a non-permanent member of the UNSC, reaffirming its commitment to supporting multilateral efforts aimed at maintaining international peace and security, and contributing constructively to global cooperation.

President @HassanSMohamud presided over the welcoming ceremony of the Çağrı Bey oil drilling vessel at the Port of Mogadishu. The President underscored that the commencement of offshore drilling “represents a strategic national step toward accelerating economic growth, attracting investment, and generating employment opportunities for our people.” He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the responsible and sustainable utilization of Somalia’s natural resources, commending the strong Somalia–Türkiye strategic cooperation that made this historic milestone possible.

H.E. President @HassanSMohamud received Ambassadors of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited to Somalia at Villa Somalia Presidential Palace. During the meeting, the President highlighted progress in key Government priority areas, including strengthening security, advancing democratisation, and responding to humanitarian needs. The President reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to inclusive governance, stability, and a deepened partnership with the international community.

H.E. President @HassanSMohamud spoke by phone with His Majesty King Abdullah II, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. During the call, the two leaders discussed recent regional developments and the serious implications of ongoing military escalation in the Middle East, underscoring the importance of de-escalation. The President reaffirmed Somalia’s full solidarity with the government and people of Jordan, expressing firm support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Iranian aggression. He stressed that any attack on Jordan’s territory is a clear violation of international law and cannot be justified.

President @HassanSMohamud was formally welcomed at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo by his counterpart, President @AlsisiOfficial. After the formal reception, the two leaders led their respective delegations in a bilateral meeting, where they discussed ways to further enhance the close strategic relations between the two brotherly countries.

President @HassanSMohamud inspected the Somali Disaster Management Agency, where he assessed the ongoing drought relief efforts and directed all government institutions to prioritize drought response. The President called on Somali business leaders, humanitarian organizations, and international partners to unite in supporting affected communities, and instructed the relevant MDAs to exempt taxes on humanitarian aid goods and related services to accelerate relief efforts.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has clarified the termination of all security, defense, and port agreements with the UAE, citing “strong evidence” that some actions by Abu Dhabi undermined Somalia’s territorial integrity. #Somalia
