Today, we introduce four people-driven economic models for prosperity and declare an end to the failed Black Economy. First is the Orange and Yellow Economy, designed to empower our entertainment, creative, technology, and sports-driven youth population. Nigeria’s young people are among the most talented in the world, yet many remain unemployed or underpaid. Through the Orange Economy, we will invest massively in music, film, fashion, digital innovation, sports, arts, and culture as engines of employment, wealth creation, and sustainable prosperity. Second is the Purple and Pink Economy, focused on empowering and liberating women economically. Nigerian women sustain homes, farms, markets, and communities despite systemic discrimination and exclusion. The Purple Economy will expand access to finance, education, land ownership, healthcare, technology, and entrepreneurship for women, ensuring that they become central drivers of national productivity and growth. Third is the Blue Economy, built around the enormous potential of our rivers, coastlines, and aquatic resources, particularly in the Niger Delta and other water-rich regions. The Blue Economy will harness waterways for transportation, clean energy, fishing, agriculture, environmental restoration, and industrial development while protecting communities whose lives depend on these ecosystems. Finally, we embrace the Green Economy, a bold transition away from environmentally destructive systems toward renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, climate-conscious industrialization, and ecological protection. The Green Economy will not only help save our environment but position Nigeria as a leader in the global transition toward a cleaner, more sustainable, and prosperous future. Today, we declare an end to the failed Black Economy — the corrupt economic order built on greed, avarice, environmental destruction, exploitation, insecurity, and endless theft of public wealth. The future belongs to an economy that serves the people, protects the planet, and guarantees prosperity with dignity for all Nigerians.

Congratulations to Omoyele Sowore on emerging as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress. His manifesto reflects thought and a genuine desire to address the challenges Nigerians are currently facing. In an ideal nation, a candidate with such people-centred ideas should naturally earn the support of the masses. Sadly, our politics has been reduced to stomach infrastructure, where many care less about vision and more about who can share rice and money.   DEJI ADEYANJU, ESQ.

I'll give you just 3 financial updates. Take them seriously. 1. Forget about building a house for now. That should be the least of your worries. That 50 to 100 million naira you want to waste on building can set you up for life. Even if you are not good at business or investing, simply put the money in Money Market Funds (MMF). You can do this through your bank or fintech apps like Opay, PalmPay, Cowrywise, and PiggyVest, where you can earn up to 20% annually. If you invest 100 million, you will earn 20 million naira every year while still keeping full access to your capital. 2. Save 30% of your income every single month and invest it consistently. Even If you earn as low as 100k naira monthly and save 30k, that is 360k in the first year. Put it in MMF or government securities and keep adding every month. Repeat this discipline for 10 years. With current double-digit returns, you will not have less than 8 million naira and you can easily cross 10 million if rates stay strong. 3. If you can afford a small car, buy one, maintain it properly, and use it for mobility and business. Stop attending important meetings and presenting proposals on bike or keke. A car puts you two steps ahead immediately. Bonus tip: Instead of buying one land for 10 million and spending 100 million to build a house on it, buy 11 pieces of land. Do proper due diligence, surveillance, and documentation, then leave them for 5 to 10 years to appreciate. You could easily make nothing less than 500 million from that move. Above all, love God.

When Rotimi Amaechi said Nigerians don’t fight for anything, he was so right. A teacher was beheaded on live Tv & there’s no outrage from the NUT. Instead they’re organizing a 3 days fasting & prayer program. What a country!!

The spreading shadow of violence across Nigeria has breached the borders of the South West, turning a once stable region into a landscape of fear. From the harrowing mass abduction and tragic killing of an educator in Oyo State to the increasingly perilous highways of Ekiti, Ondo, and Ogun, the normalization of terror is taking root. This security collapse raises serious questions, especially since the Amotekun Commanders across the South West collectively maintained in 2025 that the region's forests would never be allowed to serve as permanent hideouts or bases for criminals, also South West Governor's forum stated that there was "no empirical evidence of bandits in the South West, but security measures are being strengthened to prevent any incidents". How then did heavily armed bandits penetrate these heavily guarded corridors so deeply, rendering our spaces entirely unsafe for everyday citizens? To the Executive Governors of the region, the title of "Chief Security Officer" must cease to be a mere protocol ornament. You are the Number One Citizens of your states, bound by a sacred constitutional covenant to protect the lives and livelihoods of your people. Standard press releases of condemnation and reactive condolences are no longer acceptable, we need actions. When citizens cannot farm, travel, or send their children to school without the looming threat of death, the fundamental contract between the government and the governed is entirely broken. True leadership demands immediate, proactive coordination. Governors must take absolute charge of their internal security by sitting down with their state Commissioners of Police (CP) to directly engage the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and open up every other necessary channel. It is time to enforce a unified front where the police, military, local security outfits, and indigenous intelligence networks seamlessly come together to systematically secure our forests from external forces. History will judge your tenures not by the infrastructure you build, but by how fiercely and effectively you unite these forces to defend the human lives meant to utilize them.
