@KookCapitalLLC A new USA government bill just passed that allowed the government to access old inactive wallets and even sell their bitcoin.
Think about that

@GenXHistory605 @goneers As liberal as a comment can get ., make an issue out of something literally impossible. Lmao

@goneers My mother in law was married 7 times, and if she was still alive, I couldn't imagine trying to find all those marriage licenses! Real ID is just another way to control us!
English

Let's talk about Real ID, shall we?
Real ID will be required to fly domestically after May 7th of this year, unless you have a passport, which many do not.
I don't know about where you live, but in NC it's IMPOSSIBLE to get an appointment for months out. Real ID requirements discriminate against women by requiring proof of all marriages, going back decades, due to name changes. My mom never had a copy of the license from her first marriage so she can't get one. Men don't have this problem.
Personally I think this whole thing is complete BULLSHIT. Biden flew illegals with no IDs all over this damn country, yet ACTUAL CITIZENS have to jump through hoops to prove their identity just to get on a plane and fly to Akron? Are you fcking kidding me? This whole thing smacks of government control and overreach.
I'm asking @Sec_Noem to do away with this nonsense. It's not right. Stop giving non-citizens driver's licenses and we won't have any need for Real ID. Please repost if you agree.

@0xNIC0 @kashdhanda right 0 meme verification is actually super fuggin safe , but then this pretty much makes it that official companies can’t like lose , or else it’s a “scam” but some people really do just lose
English

How about this:
Only tokens that can be verified are from legit registered companies where legal can come back to.
Everything else is as it should be - Extremely risky and very scary to trade. Because shitcoins don’t deserve verification of any format. There is 0 benefit to verify a token less than 6 months old.
English

lot of FUD going around right now. but here's the truth:
the Jupiter team was not involved in the $Libra token launch. we didn't do the deployment, the market making, or participate in the launch.
we also did NOT pre-verify the token. we only verified it after it had crossed $1.5b in market cap.
there were dozens of imposter tokens, and given there was an official public statement with a CA, we wanted to ensure that users were able to identify the correct token.
will have more details for everyone soon.

Crypto tax is broken in America.
The PENGU airdrop is a perfect example why.
And shows what we can do to fix it.
Yesterday I was tagged in a post by this user who got a $250k PENGU airdrop.
It's worth $90k today.
So they can just sell at a loss and not owe tax, right?
Wrong.
In the US airdrops are taxed as income at the fair value when you receive them.
This user owes income tax on the $250k value of their airdrop.
This pushes them into the 35% federal tax bracket meaning they will owe $87.5k in tax on this airdrop.
And since they claimed it in Dec. 2024 - they owe that on April 15th with their 2024 tax return.
Yikes.
Even if they sell today for a $160k loss, they can only use $3k of losses per year against income.
And if the price keeps dumping?
Double yikes.
Nobody should have to potentially pay more in tax than they have in their wallet.
In my opinion, taxing crypto airdrops, staking rewards, mining rewards, etc. as income at the value when received is ridiculous.
Crypto assets are extremely volatile - especially during their initial allocations.
If we wanted fair rules on crypto income tax?
At a minimum:
Any airdropped non-stablecoin tokens should be taxed when they're sold. Not when they're received.
I also think there are great arguments to be made that staking rewards + mined tokens should have the same tax treatment.
Tax them when they're sold.
But what do you think?

@DegenerateNews @realDonaldTrump Everyone will be fooled and rugged. Beware.
I highly doubt Trump would just release a meme coin without the hype (presale) first building trust to bring in more investors. No way he just dropped it randomly.
