This is misleading. To say that polygamy is natural is not (primarily) an observation about non-human animals. Rather it's an observation about human animals and their societies throughout history. All things being equal, moral ideals that are extremely difficult or impossible for humans to practice are inferior to those which they can practice. And this happens when the ideals conform to humans' biologically-rooted psychology. Christian ideals of celibacy, strict monogamy, and the prohibition of divorce are highly problematic given how much they clash with human psychology. Moreover, virtually all Christians reject them in practice.

If you find yourself declaring "animals do it" as a justification for any kind of human choice or behavior, that's a very good indication that you're on the wrong side of the argument. Animals cannibalize each other. They eat their own shit. They kill and abandon their young. Animals do a lot of things that we should not be emulating.
