given general anti trans talking points, have folks in Linguistics come up with an alternative to the term "biological gender" (as opposed to grammatical gender)? every time I say it, I feel compelled to explain that it has nothing to do with trans folk at all

@lasjoakinotas I’m not sure I have a correct answer… I acknowledged that animate nouns’ gender assignment is typically based on their semantic information, and thus, nouns’ social gender identity. Then, I also mentioned heteronymy for animals and epicene nouns

@gorkabs Interesgarria Gorka. Now, I just woke up, so I'm a little groggy still, but don't we usually categorize things like el gato vs la gata into bio gender and not grammatical gender? I'm not sure how much social identity gender would work there, how'd you handle that one?
