Mahalo to the Legislature for their hard work and dedication this past session. I look forward to signing these bills and enacting important legislation that will help move Hawai‘i forward.

I have until June 30 to announce any veto intentions and until July 15 to sign or veto bills; otherwise, they will automatically become law.

The Legislature passed 268 bills this session, and I will be carefully reviewing each measure in the coming weeks. Notably, the tax bill preserves tax breaks for 95% of people in our state, providing continued relief for Hawai‘i’s families.

HIORR is closely coordinating with all the counties and local partners to ensure a cohesive and trauma-informed disaster response.

Affected residents have direct access to DCMP managers to help develop a disaster recovery plan. Residents and business owners who suffered property damage or need financial assistance can receive guidance and apply to FEMA in-person at recovery centers.

Governor Green’s Hawaiʻi Office of Recovery and Resiliency (HIORR), along with other state, federal and county partners, are expanding direct, in-person assistance for Kona Low storm recovery within Maui County.
