I applied for a job with Robert Jenrick, who, as many of you know, is my own MP. The role was for a Content Creator vacancy, and I genuinely believe my experience and skills were well suited to it. Did I expect to get the job? No, absolutely not. Did I want the job? It’s a mixed answer. Professionally, it would have been a great opportunity to develop my skills. Personally, I have fundamental disagreements with Robert Jenrick and the way he conducts politics. I’ve made those views clear to him directly and on this platform, and I stand by them. Applying for the role didn’t change my principles or my morals, and it certainly wouldn’t have changed them if I’d been offered the job. I still believed I was well suited to the role based on my experience and skills, and it’s not the only Content Creator or social media role I’ve applied for. What has disappointed me isn’t that I wasn’t offered the role. It’s that I haven’t received any response at all. Not even a courtesy email to say my application was unsuccessful. I think that’s disappointing, especially when you’re applying to work for your own MP, the person elected to represent you. Over the last 12 months, as many of you know, I’ve tried to contact Robert on a number of occasions about issues affecting me, other people and the wider community. I’ve often felt as though I’ve simply not been given any time whatsoever. This experience has only reinforced that feeling. I don’t expect special treatment. I simply expect the same courtesy I’d expect from any employer: a reply. Even if the answer is no, at least you’ve been told where you stand and it puts your mind at rest. This is one of the reasons I’ve consistently argued over the last year that employers who advertise jobs should be required to notify every applicant of the outcome. If they fail to do so, there should be consequences. People invest hours preparing CVs, writing cover letters and various other documents, only to be ignored. At a time when youth unemployment remains a serious issue, leaving applicants in the dark only adds to the frustration and uncertainty. It doesn’t take much to send a short email confirming the outcome. Separately, I’ve also contacted Robert Jenrick’s office to ask about obtaining another PMQs ticket, as I haven’t attended Prime Minister’s Questions for nearly a year. As many people know, the way to request a ticket is through your own MP. Once again, I’ve had no response at all. Even if there weren’t any tickets available, a simple reply saying, “Sorry, there aren’t any available,” would have been enough. Being left in the dark again is disappointing, and I don’t think that’s how constituents should be treated. For me, this is about something much bigger than one job application. It’s about professionalism, accountability and basic respect. Whether you’re applying for a job or contacting your elected representative, you deserve a response. I don’t think that’s an unreasonable expectation.

@VaughanLewis1 This is extremely dumb and you obviously have a agenda here. Pubs are places people can have social gatherings, bookies don't really have that same aspect. Both have morally and socially bad aspects but its not really hard to see that pubs are better socially.

Who has determined that pubs are social good and bookies are social harm? And why? Pubs sell alcohol and generally unhealthy food. And gaming machines. People meet for a chat, a pint, play the fruity and a smoke outside. While eating chips. Bookies sell bets a gaming machines. People meet for a chat. They’re not allowed to drink alcohol and they don’t sell processed food. What makes one social harm and one social good? And why is it not the other way around?
James Noyes@jranoyes

The Prime Minister has clearly listened to, and agrees with, this message: higher tax on social harm, lower tax on social good. I expect a tax increase on high street gambling venues to be introduced in the coming months, to balance business rates relief for local pubs.

@ideanoc17 it’s mostly geographical for me. i don’t think Britain should be allowed to keep a few islands on the other side of the atlantic ocean simply because they colonized them and never gave them up.

It's depressing that I know who the mayor of New York is but couldn't tell you many of the mayors of British cities. We truly are vassals.

@La____griffe And White people should be disgusted by the claim of a culture that was closer to the Middle East than to the rest of Europe.

Any self aware black person would need to cringe to the core at how their race is used as a humiliation for other races.
Homer Pavlos@HomerPavlos

The Odyssey begins by showing an African rapper with rasta in the role of a Greek poet. We Greeks are forced to watch our Greek history and culture being disgraced and mocked across the entire world. What is Nolan's real role in doing something like this instead of casting a Greek person speaking Greek? What's the purpose of casting someone with rasta in the Greek world? I'll tell you. Nolan and Hollywood are the real racists and enemies of the West. They hate us Greeks. The simplest confirmation comes from the fact that when a film is about African history, they don't cast white people, only Africans. When it's about Chinese or Japanese history, they cast only Asians, and they even speak only in their own language. But now that the time has come for a film based on Greek history with Greeks, not a single Greek is cast, they don't speak even a bit of Greek, and they don't even respect Homer. So, for films about European cultures, Africans, Asians, and anything else must be cast, but when it comes to African culture, whites are not allowed to play those roles. This is the real racism of Hollywood. Hollywood is a cancer that rots your souls and enslaves your minds and spirits. They hate you and they want to destroy you. Never forget the real enemies of the West and of your race. Those who are in universities, the academics, teaching your children how to hate their ancestors instead of honoring them. Don't do them the favor. Love the Greco-Roman world and fight those who hate you. Never forget the traitors who took everything as a joke and contributed to the plan to destroy Western civilization.
