@sportschick79@sillyrabbitfafo Fair enough, Canadians like to sing the anthem, apparently even the American one. Google the Toronto Maple Leaf fans spontaneously singing the SSB when the singer's mic power shut off.
So Canadians claimed Panthers fans booed their anthem (which didn't happen) but they just chanted something not understandable though the TV thought half thr American anthem
@sillyrabbitfafo@gp_butler There was no booing in Florida
I was literally in the building and the chant went on for the first third of the song tonight
@sportschick79 For the first few seconds until they realized it had started. It's loud in there. Then they sang along and finally they cheered The SSB anthem loudly at the end.
Welcome to #NATO@Sweden. Canada's competition at pickup hockey games gets a lot harder, but I'm sure everyone's excited about improvement to coffee breaks that #Fika will bring!
@Sean_YYZ I'm rooting for you. A city of 700,000 people should be a major destination in our country for well paid jobs, tourism, and home to great architecture, public transportation, and urban planning.
@Sean_YYZ I hate to say something unkind about Brampton that I'm sure many people love, but for a city of 700,000 it doesn't look like a big city. But I hope that is about to change with new urban development plans.
We’ve been waiting all day for new fridge to be delivered. Now that there are only 15 min to go before the end of the promised window my kids were plotting to delay the truck if it shows up. Me: why?!? Kids: If they are late, we get a free fridge! 🤦♀️😂😬 #KidLogic#IWish
@djparrott6@CanadaSoccerEN That may be the case in 10 years, but with a women's league on the horizon, we will need Canadian players. The old W-League had a number of Canadian university players. I'm saying that we should invest to make university soccer in Canada competitive with US College.
@gp_butler@CanadaSoccerEN You can spend that money way more effectively. It doesn't make sense to invest in a system where the soccer season is 3-4 months long. If you want to develop high end talent they need to be playing more often
Here's an idea for @CanadaSoccerEN and the Canadian #MLS & #CanPL teams, let's invest in Canadian college and university soccer more so that our future #CanWNT and #CanMNT players don't have to leave the country to complete their development for high level competition.
@fourTurns It's true that there might be an evolution occurring as players like Pugh and Huitema have forgone college, but until that trend is confirmed for most players, I think the investment is sound. Plus the new women's league will be looking for a lot of Canadian players, I hope.
@gp_butler For women, as Priestman has noted, it can’t be core for too much longer. As seen in the past decade, Cdn youth squads stacked with US college players have been outclassed by ever increasing countries leveraging their professional men’s development system to the women’s game.
