I haven't written a tech article in a good while. Hope you'll enjoy this one. And there's a little surprise ...😜

@DLion92 @g_bonfiglio It depends on the context. If it's a working context and it's your job/duty, I agree. But let's be honest with an ex: What if your cousin asks you about what is the best tariff for mobile? Honestly, I don't know and finding out is too much work for my already overloaded brain.

@gpaterno @g_bonfiglio I found that saying just "I don't know" is not very helpful. However, saying something like, "I don't know but let's figure it out together", in general, works way better. It's okay to be ignorant about something, the important part is being proactive around filling that gap 😁

I'm never gonna understand who gives you incorrect info instead of saying "I don't know". Like, does this work most of the times? Is it a good strategy? Is getting caught so unlikely?

@gpaterno @mpsoxygen @mairin None of the functionality is mandatory is you use systemd as pid 1 (except journald, but even that doesn't preclude using syslogd for the on-disk data). Machined, timedated, networkd, resolved are all small programs aren't they?

@mpsoxygen @mairin The initial idea of systemd is great, at least a common way to manage start in distros. It's the idea of inglobating into systemd many functionalities that used to live on their own, fundamentally changing the idea of Unix (small prgs for tasks). Yet, it doesn't justify abuse.

@mairin I really don't understand the hate for systemd. It only made my life easier. Probably just chasing clout.

If you are the sort of person who stands up as soon as the plane lands. I’m sorry but we can’t be friends.

@LisaForteUK I usually think "yeah yeah... as if 5 minutes will make a difference". And, in some airports, "we'll end up on the very same bus, you idiot" 🤣
