@ucuatdurham I wore a badge saying “not graduating thanks to Karen” and was blacked out from the screens. So along with not actually graduating, my family didn’t even get to see me in this faux ceremony.

We've been told that at this morning's completion ceremony one student refused to shake hands with the VC, saying "no degree, no handshake!".

Where processes of marking, moderation and confirmation are not followed nobody can have confidence in the outcomes. Not staff, not students, not future employers or educators. A disgraceful betrayal of the same students who went through this with their A levels.

BREAKING: more than half of academics, attending a board of examiners for one of Durham's largest departments, were compelled to walk out of the meeting, in which hundreds of students were being awarded classifications based on incompletely marked modules.
